Fellowships & Scholarships

Students interested in immersing themselves in different languages and cultures through international or intercultural research, study, and service may be eligible for fellowships or scholarships.  

Audrey Wilson Florence Travel Scholarships

Humanities majors participating in the Florence Program may apply for Audrey Wilson Florence Travel Scholarships. Apply through the director of the FSU humanities program Contact the Program in Interdisciplinary Humanities at 850-644-9121.  

Bess H Ward Endowed Scholarship

Florida State University liberal studies Honor students and Honors in the Major students may apply for this scholarship and use the funds to support international travel in support of their thesis. The scholarship can but used on an International Exchange or during a short-term study abroad experience. 

Center for the Advancement of Human Rights

Through its internship program, the Center for the Advancement of Human Rights seeks to not only provide substantive human rights experiences to FSU students but to also directly support the work of human rights NGOs around the world. CAHR provides funding for numerous annual placements, many of them in partnership with FSU Schools and Departments. 

Global Citizenship Certificate Scholarship

The Global Citizenship Certificate Scholarship offers exceptional undergraduate students with financial need the ability to participate in a Global Exchange program at one of 40+ international universities (for 1 semester) or a Beyond Borders short-term intercultural exchange program to Jamaica or Germany (for 1 or 3 weeks respectively). This scholarship is available to students who are enrolled in both the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society and the Global Citizenship Certificate.

Global Scholars Program

The FSU Global Scholars program offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to engage with critical questions about social impact, social justice, and social change through a combination of cohort-based online learning and independent research, internship, and/or service-learning experiences.

International Programs Scholarships

Florida State University students can apply for one or more of the scholarships available for those studying abroad on Florida State University's IP programs. Some of the scholarships are for use on specific programs, while others can be used on any IP program. 

Moellership Program

Named for its founder Bill Moeller, the Moellership Program is a Center for Leadership and Social Change program that provides funding for students to engage in a summer of service, focusing 8-12 weeks of their summer on full-time service at a nonprofit agency.

Office of National Fellowships

The Office of National Fellowships (ONF) helps students to pursue opportunities for enrichment by providing information and support through the fellowship application process. Through one-on-one mentoring and direct assistance for over 60 nationally competitive fellowships, ONF helps students identify and achieve their academic, public service, creative, and leadership goals.

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi annually awards 75 grants of $1,000 each to selected undergraduate students seeking support for international study. Applicants do NOT have to be a member of Phi Kappa Phi to apply for the scholarship. 

Social Science Scholars

The Social Science Scholars Program was created to recognize and challenge outstanding students in the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy. Those selected participate in a leadership seminar during the spring of their junior year and receive grants up to $5,000 for approved travel and other expenses related to their research or service projects that are undertaken during the following summer and/or fall semesters.

Winthrop-King Scholarships

Supported by a generous bequest from the late Mrs. Ada Belle Winthrop-King, Florida State University's Winthrop-King Institute for Contemporary French and Francophone Studies is a center for interdisciplinary scholarship on France and the French-speaking world. They offer travel awards to undergraduate and graduate students in the department of Modern Languages and Linguistics to support both conference and research travel.
