Peace Corps at FSU

What is the Peace Corps?

Peace Corps is a U.S. government agency that sends American volunteers abroad to serve in across six professional sectors: Education, Health, Agriculture, Environment, Community Economic Development and Youth Development. There are currently Peace Corps programs in 60+ countries. Volunteers live and work side by side with community members on locally prioritized projects, building relationships, exchanging perspectives and knowledge, and helping transform lives for generations.

The Peace Corps Mission

To promote world peace and friendship by fulfilling three goals:

  1. To help the countries interested in meeting their need for trained people.
  2. To help promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served.
  3. To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.
