Strengthening High-Impact, Institution-to-Institution Partnerships Between FSU and Leading Universities Around the World.
Florida State University’s Visiting Scholars Partnership Program (VSPP) connects leading scholars from around the world with FSU faculty to develop peer-to-peer research collaborations, advance joint grant proposals and build long-term institutional partnerships. It is designed to foster sustained research and innovation-driven interactions between FSU faculty and visiting scholars from strategically aligned international institutions.
Unlike traditional faculty exchanges, VSPP is a competitive and highly selective program that pairs researchers together months before they arrive on campus, creating the foundation for an immersive residency centered on shared research goals and collaboration that continues beyond the visit. Through VSPP, visiting scholars work closely with FSU faculty to build impactful relationships, exchange knowledge and perspectives, and contribute to foundational research that transforms communities and advances global scientific understanding.
Through dedicated collaboration with FSU faculty and access to the university’s research community, visiting scholars have the opportunity to advance shared projects, exchange expertise and develop new avenues for continued research and partnership. In addition to advancing knowledge on the global stage, collaborations may include joint research proposals, co-authored publications, pooled data, integrated complementary resources and new interdisciplinary initiatives.
Following the success of the inaugural VSPP in Summer 2026, which welcomed an outstanding cohort of eight scholars from four partner institutions, the VSPP is officially launching recruitment for Cohort II, which will take place in Summer 2027.
Link to Nomination Form
The VSPP Cohort II on-campus experience is structured as a focused, high-impact two-week intensive residency (June 6-19, 2027; participants should arrive June 5) designed to accelerate joint research proposals, co-authorship and facility integration without pulling senior faculty away from their home institutions for extended periods. For teams requiring extended research collaboration opportunities, scholars have the option to prolong their stay through June 25, 2027, under a self-directed research arrangement coordinated directly with their FSU faculty collaborator.
