What motivated you to apply for a Fulbright award?

The potential to do extended work in Flemish museums with established colleagues there. (And then there was Covid...)

Describe the importance and reach of the research and/or teaching you did while on Fulbright?

New book in press!

Tell us about significant personal Fulbright experiences you had

In many ways, spending an extended period of time was returning to my roots.

Advice for anyone considering the Fulbright award

First, establish meaningful relationships with colleagues somewhere-rather than saying something like, "I just want a Fulbright." I'll go anywhere!" Then determine a collaborative exchange where you each give and get. Finally, work with the Office of Faculty Development or previous Fulbrighters on your application.

Accomplishments

Coined the term "edu-curation" to represent an ideal of collaborative curation. Established the edu-curation program at FSU, the only such program offering MA and PhD degrees. With colleague Ann Rowson Love developed the first comprehensive model for intentional curation. https://www.mleuven.be/en/programme/icom-ceca-conference-digital-tuesday-2610
