What would I be studying?
Through the exchange graduate students will be given the opportunity to learn about social problems in a different culture and apply their learning to work with diverse client populations in the US.
Social Work graduate students will be placed in internships under the direct supervision of a qualified social worker for a period of 16 weeks.
How can I study at University of Pécs as an Exchange Student?
To participate in this exchange you must be a Master of Social Work student.
- Contact The Florida State University College of Social Work Academic Advisor for the International Exchange, Patricia Lager, who will direct you through the department's selection process outgoing reciprocal exchange students at The Florida State University.
- Complete the Application for outgoing reciprocal exchange student at The Florida State University, including authorizing signatures.
- There will be an application form for University of Pécs as well. Once your application has been evaluated by Pécs you will receive an acceptance letter and a housing form.

Apply by November 25th for Spring Semester and April 25th for Autumn Semester.

How do I secure a student visa?
Once in Pécs, the only bureaucratic arrangement is getting registered at the County Immigration Bureau and obtaining a residence certification. To get this document you will need your acceptance letter specifying your tuition waiver, health insurance and your bank account statement. A Faculty coordinator will accompany students and help them make these simple arrangements.
Accommodations- Where would I live? What is the cost of Living?
International students have two basic options for accommodations in Pécs. You may indicate your desire of staying in a hostel room on application, or seek alternative accommodation on arrival in a rented flat. It is a straightforward option for exchange students to reserve a place in the student hostel (Szántó Kollégium), located in a quiet, residential area of Pécs - it is in fact the same building where you can find the International Relations Office. The faculties of the University as well as the city centre are fairly accessible from here, only a short bus journey away. Altogether there are 26 rooms of reasonably high quality available however they cannot offer a room for a single student due to the large demand for rooms. The price of the rooms per person is HUF 15,000- 25,000 a month .Payment must be made by postal order at the beginning of each month or may be paid in full for the entire period. Postal orders can be obtained from the International Relations Office.

The costs above are calculated for the average person and subject to change according to variations in exchange rates. All students must have sufficient funds to cover their daily expenses during the period they are on the exchange program.

History
Founded in 1367, The University of Pécs is Hungary's oldest university. It has had a checkered history, but the modern university, was established in 1921. In January 2000 the University merged with the Medical University and the College of Education to become one of Hungary's largest institutions of higher education, having the widest range of academic programs and research projects.
