What would I be studying?
Students conduct on-site research and engage in classroom discussion on Industrial Engineering & Management. This research and interaction supports the University’s mission of providing a strong liberal arts base and unique research opportunities. Classes are offered in English. Courses in engineering.
How can I study at NCTU as an Exchange Student?
Students enroll and pay Florida State University tuition and fees, and tuition and fees are waived at the host university. All participants must be currently enrolled and degree-seeking students in good standing with all academic credit earned at the host institution being credited to The Florida State University. A student participating in the exchange must be in attendance at The Florida State University for one semester prior to the exchange.

- Complete the Application for outgoing reciprocal exchange student at The Florida State University, including authorizing signatures.
- There will be an application form for National Chiao Tung University as well. Once your application has been evaluated by NCTU you will receive an acceptance letter.

The application deadline for Fall Semester is March 31st, and for Spring Semester is October 31st.
The Fall semester is early August to mid January. The Spring semester is early February to mid June. Current Academic Calendar.
Financial Aid and NCTU’s Academic Calendar
FSU students going to National Chao Tung University’s Fall semester (early August-mid January) and who have been awarded financial aid will have their aid disbursed within a week of the start of classes at FSU. FSU students going to National Chao Tung University’s Spring semester (early February-mid June) will be eligible for their financial aid in early February. and who have been awarded financial aid will have their aid disbursed within a week of the start of classes at NCTU. You may be eligible for a tuition deferment if your FSU tuition is due prior to this date.

Accommodations- Where would I live? What is the cost of Living?
There are student dormitory and guest house accommodations available. Visit this link for information on living accommodations, local transportation, and the campus scene. The cost ranges from $180-$390 a semester. The living expense in Hsinchu is about $250-$500 a month.
The costs above are calculated for the average person and subject to change according to variations in exchange rates. All students must have sufficient funds to cover their daily expenses during the period they are on the exchange program.
All international students are required to enroll in the national health care program. The cost is NT $1,296 for the first four months paid to NCTU when reporting to NCTU. After the first four months the cost is NT $659 per month paid at registration for every semester.
