Students will engage in classroom teaching in Korean schools.

How can I study at Korea University as an Exchange Student?

Students enroll and pay Florida State University tuition and fees, and tuition and fees are waived at the host university. All participants must be currently enrolled and degree-seeking students in good standing with all academic credit earned at the host institution being credited to The Florida State University. A student participating in the exchange must be in attendance at The Florida State University for one semester prior to the exchange.

  1. To participate in this exchange Contact The Florida State University School of Teacher Education Academic Advisor for the International Exchange, Dr. Young-Suk Kim or Dr. Kathy Froelich, who will direct you through the department's selection process for outgoing reciprocal exchange student at The Florida State Universitys.
  2. Complete the Application for outgoing reciprocal exchange student at The Florida State University, including authorizing signatures.
  3. There will be an application process for Korea University as well. Once your application has been evaluated by Korea University you will receive an acceptance letter and a housing form.

Academic Calendar

The Fall semester is late August to late January. The Spring semester is late February to mid June.

How do I secure a student visa?

Students are responsible for and must possess a valid passport and a D-2 visa from the Korean Embassy or Consulate in their country for their stay in Korea (nearest Korean Embassy or Korean Consul General). 

Accommodations- Where would I live? What is the cost of Living?

soccer Korea University is located in the greater Seoul area with a population of over 20 million, and is a bustling center for culture, finance, politics, and entertainment. Within a five minute walk from the campus are an array of restaurants, shops, and a famous Buddhist temple.

Korea University provides participants with the benefits of housing and meals. University on-campus housing is prioritized for exchange students and university facilities can be used in the same manner as all Korea University registered students.

The costs above are calculated for the average person and subject to change according to variations in exchange rates. All students must have sufficient funds to cover their daily expenses during the period they are on the exchange program.

Health Care

In addition to meeting the health insurance requirements for The Florida State University students participating in international exchanges students will need to apply for the National Health Insurance.

History

KUEstablished in 1905, Korea University is now one of the top universities in Korea, ranked 150th in the world and 2nd in South Korea by THE–QS World University Rankings. Korea University prides itself not only in being a progressive and globally conscious institution but also one that plays a role in preserving and developing Korea’s unique culture.  It has three campuses, two in Seoul and the other in Seochang. Korea University has student exchange programs with numerous schools across the world and offers a wide range of unique opportunities for students. During the academic year of 2008, a total of 1461 student participated in the exchange programs.
