Fellowships and Scholarships

Students interested in immersing themselves in different languages and cultures through international or cross-cultural research, study and service may be eligible for fellowships and scholarships.

International or Cross-Cultural Serviceships

MarleeThe Center for Leadership and Civic Education offers the Summer Serviceship Program, a partially funded service internship that gives selected undergraduate students at The Florida State University the opportunity to focus 8-12 weeks of their summer full-time on service to a nonprofit agency, and contributing to the solution of a specific social need in a specific community locally, nationally or internationally (click on Summer Serviceships).

International Dissertation Semester Research Fellowship

These prestigious international fellowships for advanced doctoral students are offered by the Office of Graduate Studies to facilitate research and timely completion of the doctoral degree that requires extended research-time abroad.  Recipients must conduct research abroad for the duration of the fellowship. 

International Programs Scholarships

International Programs (IP) administers over $110,000 worth of scholarships each year.  The Florida State University students can apply for one or more of the seven different scholarships available for those studying abroad on The Florida State University's IP programs.  Some of the scholarships are for use on specific programs, while others can be used on any IP program. 

Office of National Fellowships

The Office of National Fellowships seeks to benefit the development of student excellence, both academically and intra-personally. Students interested in the opportunity to immerse themselves in different languages and cultures through international or cross-cultural research and study may be eligible for national fellowships.

Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavors

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavors invites undergraduate student who are curious about research to explore the opportunities available at The Florida State University for cross-cultural and international research. An experiment done in a laboratory, a scholarly research project reliant upon archival work, fieldwork and interviews completed to address a social concern, or an artistic project performed in a concert hall, research can take many forms, and they are all available to the students of Florida State University.
