Current Special Programs for Incoming International Students

The Florida State University offers unique programs specifically designed for groups of students from international universities. Students participating in these current intensive study opportunities may come to The Florida State University as non-degree seeking students and earn 12 credit hours by attending an intensive 3-credit on campus course followed by a 6-month internship at Walt Disney World® for 9 credits. 

Florida State University offers a program for Communication majors from international universities that combines a week of study in The Florida State University College of Communication with a five-month supervised, internship at Walt Disney World® Resort. Students take an intensive course in Public Relations and Public Relations Management taught by a faculty member in the College of Communication. Students attend class over 4 hours daily and also go on several related field trips to various public relations/media outlets in Tallahassee as well as to Panama City to look at its tourism public relations program. 

Florida State University offers a program for hospitality and international tourism majors from international universities that combines a week of study in the Dedman School of Hospitality at The Florida State University with a supervised, paid internship at Walt Disney World® Resort. Students take an intensive course in Leadership in Hospitality Management taught by Dr. Robert Brymer, the Chair of the Dedman School of Hospitality. Students attend class over 4 hours daily and also go on several related field trips to visit a premier resort and also a residential country club.
