Program Director, Global Pathways Certificate and Exchanges
Dr. Cadence Kidwell is the Program Director for The Florida State University’s Global Pathways Certificate and Exchanges: She directs the nationally-recognized Global Pathways Certificate program that encourages, coordinates, and documents student experiences for greater intercultural learning. Dr. Kidwell also provides management to The Florida State University international exchange programs, developing partnerships with over 40 international universities on behalf of The Florida State University’s faculty. Global Pathways connects The Florida State University’s community to a diverse array of international activities that develop global citizenship. Dr. Kidwell also convenes The Spiritual Life Project for FSU. In addition to her Ph.D. in English from The Florida State University, Dr. Kidwell holds a M.S. in Clinical-Counseling Psychology and an M.A. in Creative Writing. She has frequently taught Latino Literature and writing courses in The Florida State University’s Department of English and has participated in intercultural exchanges in Costa Rica, Cuba and Turkey.
Global Pathways Certificate Advisor
Sarah Shields is the graduate assistant and advisor for the Global Pathways Certificate. She is currently enrolled as a masters student at The Florida State University in the Higher Education program. Her background includes positions in university new student and family engagement and university resident life. She studied abroad in the Semester at Sea program as an undergraduate student. Sarah holds a B.A. in Secondary Education from DePaul University, Chicago.
